For pool barriers to comply with AS 1926.1-2012, they must meet the following:
- Minimum height of 1.2 metres
- Minimum height of 1.8 metres for the boundary fence part of the pool barrier
- Minimum Non-Climbable Zone of 900 mm (both boundary and internal fence)
- Self-latching locks and self-closing pool gates
