Palisade Fencing in Australia
Once used to protect forts and settlements from hostile attacks, palisades still serve the same purpose but for commercial properties and critical facilities. Instead of timber, the modern palisade is built from hot dip galvanised high-strength steel. Scaling or dismantling this type of security fencing will be challenging, if not impossible.
With physical burglary and property crime still prevalent in the digital age, enclosing your vital facilities with palisade fencing is just as crucial. We at Grays Fences & Gates deliver on our promise of quality fences and fencing work, including high security fencing options such as palisade fencing. Give us a call to better protect your business today.

Strong and Secure – As Palisade Security Fencing Should Be
Made With Maraging Steel
Maraging steel contains less carbon than conventional steel but compensates for this with more alloying metals, primarily nickel. This combination results in steel that’s more resistant to fracturing while still being easier to form into other steel products and weld. Maraging steel also doesn’t lose its strength when undergoing cutting and fabrication.
Hot Dip Galvanising
Steel in Australia almost always undergoes hot dip galvanisation (HDG), owing to the country’s tendency for extreme weather. As the term implies, HDG involves dipping the steel in a bath of molten zinc or zinc-based alloy. This coats the steel in several layers that can slow the oxidation process, which leads to corrosion.
BS 1722-12 Compliance
Aside from full compliance with Australian Standards, our palisade fence panels are built to guidelines under BS 1722-12. This British Standard covers general-purpose palisade fences, from the kind of steel used to the shapes for the anti climb pales (namely D or W pales) on top. Adhering to this standard is how our palisades can withstand vehicular crashes and other powerful impacts.
Powder Coating Finish
Powder coating is a widely preferred finish for palisade fence panels. In our case, we have them finished using a broad range of colours from the Dulux or Interpon colour range, which are widely used in the fencing industry. Powder coated steel also has an additional layer of protection against the elements.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I add more security features to a palisade fence?
Yes, it’s possible to integrate more security features, such as barbed or razor wire.
How can palisade security fencing deter trespassers and thieves?
As with most kinds of fences, palisades provide a visual deterrent to intrusion and crime. The gaps between the steel pickets enable security personnel, whether on patrol or via cameras, to observe potential threats loitering outside the premises. Meanwhile, intruders will be less inclined to trespass if they know they’re being actively monitored.
If the intruders proceed with the break-in despite this, it’s up to the palisade fencing’s anti climb design and integrated security features to foil or delay their attempts long enough for personnel to respond.
How fast can the palisade fence be set up?
The time required to erect one depends on multiple factors such as the size of the area to be fenced. Our team will provide a timeline of the fencing project to give you a rough idea.
