If the surveyor lacks the resources to confirm if the project is compliant, they require a Regulation 126 compliance certificate along with a civil engineer’s computations and drawings.
Any project on a property valued below AUD$16,000 is considered minor work, which is in the ballpark for most fencing projects. The permit fee is AUD$650, including GST but not including the lodgement fee, government levies, and other costs. Minor work includes a maximum of two inspections by the surveyor.
